Elephant Nut / Ivory Nut

is the kernel of a fruit that is dried.
The Palm tree where the nut comes from are growing in northern South America, and has since 1750 been used as vegetable ivory, mainly for buttons.
Elephant Nuts have a nice yellowish color, reminiscent of old ivory.
The nut is hollow in the middle, and is very hard and are good to work because it does not split or crack.
