Teak (Tectona grandis)
Other names: mai sak, pahi, sagwan, tekku, kyun, tadi , jati sak, djati and gia thi.
Distribution: Burma, India and S.E. Asia - also introduced into East and West Africa and the Caribbean.
Uses: Ship and boat building for decking, rails, hatches. Because it is acid resistant it is also used in laboratories.
